We took on Guide Dog puppy Calli when she was five and a half months old, as her Puppy Walker had been ill.  She arrived full of life, and literally flew round the ceiling like a kite without strings.  Our Labrador Gracie gave us very withering looks, and Seiko (the GSD), decided it might be safest to take cover somewhere. Calli did settle well, and counts amongst her best friends our dogs, Mitchell the cat, and our pet turkey Connie.
The irrepressible, irresistible Calli loves home life. She loves the garden, the compost heap, picking raspberries etc… Note for gardener/handyman (me) - increase height of gate into veggie plot….  My remaining water lily now lives in a bucket in the front garden.  I try to keep one step ahead of her - but even then she can still trip me up.  Another note: do not take your puppy on a crowded bus if she has been in the compost heap -
and eaten broad beans!!

Below is a copy of a 'progress report' I emailed to my Puppy Walking Supervisor, who          apparently shared it with the office staff:-

'Aarrgh Sheila quick quick'   (no reaction from me)
'Aaarrgh Sheila quick!  I've got no clothes on'
  (???)
'I'm sitting on the toilet'   (!??)

Then comes the important bit.

'Calli has got through the gate.'

In say 20 years no-one has managed this before.  I left the toast and went to remove Calli from this sensitive environment and see to the gate….

Then guess who ate the toast and the butter - and left the dishes untouched on the work top!

This beautiful black Labrador Calli is now asleep at my feet as I type - as if butter wouldn't melt…

Oh happy days."

Calli's plea:
'Lead me not into temptation - I can find the way perfectly well on my own.'

"Calli's halo slipped a little further after your visit. I'm not saying it's your fault but:

Picture the scene this morning:
I'm buttering toast in a seemingly tranquil            setting when from upstairs I hear:
