Dear Bob
I am enclosing some cuttings from my  local newspaper, as otherwise you may not appreciate the extreme effort I have made to provide you with an item for the next Puppytails!  I'm glad everyone still enjoys reading the printed word, and I thought the recent production was really good

Now I'll continue with the walk that never was! One pleasant but windy afternoon in April, I was enjoying a sit down after lunch watching a tennis match on TV. Ollie, my last pup, who is now a    member of our family because of allergic skin problems, and Lenny my present pup who was then 5 months old, were waiting hopefully for the walk they knew would come sometime. The match I was    watching became rather one sided and dull so at about 2.3Opm. I got my coat, filled the pockets with the usual treats and poo bags, got the dogs to be busy and off we went.
I was driving quite slowly down a hill heading for the car park which was just round the bend, when there was a strange crunching sound and the car stopped without me braking, and a large branch of a tree smashed through the passenger side window, and broken glass and twigs showered into the car. A large oak tree from the high bank at the side of the road had blown over at the exact moment I was passing and my car was engulfed and crushed by its weight. Fortunately my

position in the driving seat was untouched and I was able to get out to be met by anxious people who had seen what happened. When I realised how badly the car was damaged, I started shouting about the dogs trapped in the boot, and I thought they may have been killed. Fortunately, again, some men managed to struggle through the tree, and were able to get the dogs out of the back. The roof of the boot was crushed well down and Ollie and Lenny were protected by the very strong ex GD cage, which we had been able to buy when GD's changed their cars several months ago, and that probably saved their lives. They were a bit scared by their experience, and glad to rejoin me.
The road was completely blocked by the tree, so there was a lot of police activity,
