Dear Bob,

Now the yearly event of baby seagulls is with us again, it reminded me of an incident a few years back with Uska, then a four and a half month puppy. I opened the back door for him to go out for a 'busy', only to be confronted with a seagull and two tiny babies walking along the path. 'Whoopee' thought Uska, a new game, and promptly picked one up in his mouth, as the mother flew off. "Here Uska, good boy" I yelled, at which he turned and ran back to me. "Leave" I said, and he dropped this bedraggled bundle into my hands. Touching it as little as possible I put it back next to the other baby, whereupon it shook itself and waddled off apparently none the worse for its adventure. Mum reappeared after about ten minutes, fussed about a bit and ushered them both to safety.
Amazingly both babies survived and eventually we saw them take their first flight.
Incidentally Uska became a stud dog, having been declared 'bombproof' by our supervisor  after a balloon was burst right in his face and he

didn't react or move at all.                                We enjoy receiving Puppytails and thanks for all your hard work.
Yours sincerely,
Jackie Bushell ,

The black pup is Christo, who is 7 months old and Eddy is 3 years old. Eddie's owner has had an accident and so he is enjoying a long holiday with my friend Ann.
